National Guard member shot in DC, police chief says
A National Guard member and suspected gunman were wounded in Washington, D.C., after Guard members tried to intervene in a fight and ended up trading fire with a suspect, police said.

A National Guard member was shot in the leg on Sunday night, D.C. Metropolitan Police Department Interim Police Chief Jeffery Carroll said early on Monday.
The suspect was also shot, he noted.
"So both have gunshot wounds," he said, "the National Guard member and the suspect."
