"The aircraft has been taken out of service to be inspected by our maintenance team," American Airlines said in a statement. "We thank our team members for their professionalism and we apologize to our customers for their experience."

A passenger on the flight said there was a "really big boom when we landed."
"It was real rough," the passenger, John Abbate, told ABC News. "They stopped at the end of the runway and just stood there for a while, we're wondering why we weren't moving. And then the captain announced that there were some blown tires on the port side of the plane."
