A Pennsylvania mom is accused of stabbing her husband and toddler to death inside a Great Wolf Lodge hotel room before telling emergency responders she was supposed to have her "happy family."

Metallica Rose Harrison, 27, of Towanda, faces two counts of criminal homicide after police discovered her husband, Charles Harrison, and their 3-year-old son dead inside the resort Monday, according to a criminal complaint reviewed by Fox News Digital.

"It wasn't supposed to end like this. I was supposed to have my happy family. That's what I envisioned since I was a child," Harrison allegedly said during the ambulance ride to a hospital.

Pocono Township police responded to room 2030 at the resort in Scotrun around 3:13 p.m. Oct. 12 after Harrison called dispatchers seeking help dying, according to the affidavit.

Officers encountered Harrison at the doorway with bleeding cuts on her wrist and puncture wounds around her neck. She told them she wanted to be with her husband and son, investigators wrote.

Inside, police found Charles Harrison with multiple stab wounds to his chest. The couple’s son, identified in the complaint by his initials, appeared to have a single stab wound to his chest.

Harrison was taken to St. Luke’s Hospital’s Monroe Campus in Stroudsburg for treatment.

"Every day, I work so hard. To be the best person, the best mother, the best wife," she allegedly told emergency responders before lamenting how things had ended.

Investigators found a large kitchen knife on the bathroom floor and a smaller knife on the bathroom sink, according to the affidavit. Both had teal green handles, and resort staff told police they were not the type of knives kept by the lodge.

Several medication bottles were also scattered throughout the room, investigators wrote.

The family had checked into the resort Sept. 21 and extended their reservation on Oct. 5, with checkout scheduled for Oct. 13, according to information police obtained from lodge security.

Surveillance video showed all three family members entering their room around 6:53 p.m. Sunday. Later that night, Harrison and her husband visited the arcade before returning to the room around 11:22 p.m., the affidavit states.

Monroe County District Attorney Michael Mancuso described the complaint as "disturbing reading" and said investigators were continuing to gather evidence.

"The investigation continues as we gather further evidence shedding light on the circumstances surrounding this horrendous situation," Mancuso wrote in a statement.

He thanked township officers, Pennsylvania State Police forensic investigators and the county coroner’s office for their work, describing the room as a "complex double homicide scene."

Mancuso emphasized that Harrison is presumed innocent and that prosecutors must prove guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.

Police described the deaths as an isolated domestic tragedy and said there was no threat to the community.

Great Wolf Lodge told Fox News Digital it was "deeply saddened and heartbroken" by the deaths and was cooperating with investigators.

"It was an isolated family incident, and we’re cooperating fully with local law enforcement as they conduct their investigation," the resort said in a statement. "Our thoughts are with the family and loved ones of those affected."

A resort spokesperson said responding officers quickly determined there was no ongoing security concern.
